How are taxes collected in your world?
Each citystate has its own method of collecting taxes, yet perhaps most important is the taxes leveed by The Caravan, the merchant faction of Tanta who controls the vast majority of trade throughout Eodia. The Caravan has setup shop in every major citystate, and regulates the conversation rate of local currencies. Any major exchange of goods or wealth goes through the Caravans hands, and they always take their due cut (sometimes called a camel fee).
